DICT pledges Magna Carta for IT Pros to support digitalization

DICT Secretary Henry Aguda has pledged to push for the passage of the Magna Carta for IT Professionals, which aims to enhance compensation and benefits for government ICT workers.

Aguda made this commitment during a strategic planning meeting on April 3 at the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Building, emphasizing the importance of supporting the ICT workforce to advance President Marcos Jr.'s digitalization agenda.

He stressed that technology is only an enabler, with people being the real drivers of change in government efficiency and public service delivery.

Aguda's vision includes driving a digital-first economy, ensuring inclusive technology access, championing data privacy, and promoting transparency in governance.

The DICT chief urged agencies and stakeholders to embrace 'digital bayanihan' to ensure no Filipino is left behind during the country's digital revolution.
