DFA welcomes Comelec's OVCS postponement

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) welcomed Comelec's decision to postpone the pre-enrollment period for the online voting and counting system (OVCS) from March 10 to March 20.

This postponement aims to ensure a smooth initial implementation of OVCS, aligning with the Election Automation Law of 2007.

The DFA commended Comelec's commitment to safeguard election integrity overseas and expressed hope that the delay will allow for thorough testing and certification.

Overseas voting is scheduled from April 13 to May 12, requiring pre-registration at www.comelec.gov.ph.

Additionally, the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) warned against individuals claiming they can manipulate election results in exchange for money, emphasizing the robust cybersecurity measures in place.
