DENR Sec Yulo Loyzaga resigns, Lotilla replaces her

DENR Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga submitted her courtesy resignation on Thursday following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive for all Cabinet officials to do the same.

Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla will replace Loyzaga as DENR secretary, announced Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin during a press conference on Friday.

Loyzaga stated that she serves at the President's pleasure and respects his decision, emphasizing the need to realign government with public expectations.

Since 2022, Loyzaga has been recognized for her science-based approach to climate resilience, environmental governance, and disaster risk reduction.

President Marcos assured that Cabinet members who have performed well will be acknowledged and may continue to serve if deemed necessary.
