Dennis Trillo prepares for role as Japanese officer in 'Pulang Araw'

Actor Dennis Trillo prepared extensively to play Japanese Imperial Army Officer Col. Yuta Saitoh in the upcoming series 'Pulang Araw', and recently shared a dancing video on TikTok.

Trillo learned Japanese and memorized numerous lines for his role, which marks his first major antagonist part; in the video, he can be seen vibing to a viral audio while wearing one of his costumes.

'Pulang Araw' follows four childhood friends through wartime struggles during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines, with Dennis's character speaking three languages: Japanese, Tagalog, and English.

The series stars Barbie Forteza, David Licauco, Alden Richards, and features other notable actors like Rhian Ramos and Julie Anne San Jose.

'Pulang Araw' airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after '24 Oras', and is also available for streaming on Netflix where it currently ranks no. 1 on the Top 10 TV Shows in the Philippines Today.
