Defensor wants DOF to explain P1.86-T loans

House Committee on Public Accounts chairman Mike Defensor urged the DOF to explain PHP1.86 trillion in loans obtained from January to July 2020.

Defensor stressed the need for transparency regarding where the funds were used and why borrowing was necessary at each time.

He called on the DOF, along with the DBM, to clarify how much of the borrowed money went towards COVID-19 response measures, infrastructure projects, debt repayment, and salaries.
