De La Salle University advances to FilOil Preseason Cup quarterfinals

De La Salle University secured a spot in the FilOil EcoOil Preseason Cup quarterfinals after defeating Far Eastern University and then overpowering the University of the East with a massive third-quarter surge, winning 100-91 on Sunday.

Kean Baclaan and Mike Phillips led De La Salle to a strong start against Far Eastern University, contributing significantly to their team's second-quarter run that increased their lead from two points to a 41-25 advantage by halftime.

In the game against the University of the East, De La Salle came alive in the third quarter with 11 three-pointers and scored 43 points, taking control of the match and remaining unbeaten at 5-0 in the preseason tournament.

With this win, De La Salle remains undefeated and is just one victory away from securing the top seed out of the UAAP Group ahead of their final elimination round game against University of Santo Tomas.

San Beda Red Lions narrowly won against Emilio Aguinaldo College and then defeated Lyceum in a close battle with a score of 76-70, improving their record to 3-4.
