De Guzman returns to Creamline, prioritizing national team duties

Jia De Guzman, a key player for Alas Pilipinas and veteran setter, confirmed her return to Creamline Cool Smashers during Tuesday's Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum.

De Guzman expressed gratitude towards Creamline for understanding her responsibilities with the national team following their historic silver medal finish at the AVC Women's Nations Cup in Vietnam last week.

The 30-year-old eight-time PVL best setter emphasized that she has been prioritizing her duties with Alas Pilipinas since joining Denso Airybees in Japan two years ago.

Creamline aims to regain their top position in the Premier Volleyball League after finishing as runners-up in the All-Filipino Conference last April.

De Guzman and her teammates are preparing for upcoming tournaments including the VTV Cup in Vietnam this month and the Southeast Asian V.League next month, with a focus on ending a 32-year gold medal drought at the Southeast Asian Games in Thailand in December.
