DOH to review budget for healthcare workers' SRA

The DOH will review its proposed 2022 budget to identify possible sources of funds for healthcare workers' special risk allowance (SRA) after a slash in the initial proposal.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III revealed that the original proposal included P50.41 billion for SRA, meals, transportation allowances, and life insurance for medical frontliners, but this was reduced to P19.68 billion by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

Marikina Rep Stella Quimbo questioned why only P19.67 billion was allotted for pandemic response in the 2022 National Expenditure Program, noting it is too small given this year's total allocation of P160.97 billion.
