DBM releases PHP309M for CDCs in 103 barangays

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released PHP309 million for constructing Child Development Centers (CDCs) through multi-purpose building projects in 103 barangays across the Philippines.

This funding is part of a joint circular between the DBM and the Department of Education, prioritizing approximately P1 billion to build CDCs in 328 low-income local government units under the Local Government Support Fund - Financial Assistance to LGUs in the 2025 national budget.

Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman emphasized that this initiative aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to support children's development before they enter school.

The program will be distributed across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, including the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, with specific allocations of 89, 106, and 133 LGUs respectively.

Each participating local government unit must provide at least 150 square meters of land and sign a memorandum of agreement with the Early Childhood Care and Development Council to ensure operational sustainability.
