DBM releases PHP550M for NKTI outpatient expansion

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released PHP550 million for the expansion of outpatient services at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI).

Budget Secretary Mina F. Pangandaman announced the issuance of Special Allotment Release Orders to fund the construction and expansion of NKTI's Out-Patient Department Building, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s commitment to improve healthcare facilities.

The new eight-storey building will cost PHP1.331 billion in total and is designed as a one-stop shop for social services including diagnostic and surgical facilities.

Pangandaman emphasized that this funding underscores President Marcos's pledge to ensure no Filipino is deprived of quality healthcare.

Located along East Avenue in Quezon City, NKTI currently consists of a two-story structure with three buildings: Main Building, Annex Building, and Dialysis Center.
