DBM: Fuel tax suspension will hurt social services

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) warned on Wednesday that suspending excise taxes on petroleum products could significantly impact government social services.

While the suspension may benefit the transport and agriculture sectors, it would affect other areas such as education funding for K-12 programs, health facilities, crisis assistance from the DOH, and regional aid from the DSWD.
