DBM approves PHP120.327 million for 175 new MSU faculty positions

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has approved the creation of 175 faculty positions for the Mindanao State University (MSU) System.

On September 17, DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman authorized the release of an estimated PHP39.217 million to create about 75 Instructor I positions across MSU's 12 secondary schools and PHP81.110 million for 100 Assistant Professor IV positions at MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology.

These new positions aim to address the growing demand for qualified faculty members and support the increasing enrollment and academic programs at MSU.

The DBM highlighted that these initiatives reflect the Marcos administration's commitment to providing quality education, particularly in underserved areas of Mindanao.

Secretary Pangandaman emphasized that filling staffing gaps is crucial for elevating the quality of education in the region and ensuring students have access to top-tier learning opportunities.

Alongside its main campus in Marawi City, MSU operates seven other schools in Mindanao.
