Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte criticizes Marcos admin, compares it to Martial Law

Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte criticized President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s administration during a proclamation rally in San Juan City, saying that Filipinos' lives and future are once again being jeopardized.

Mayor Duterte compared the current government to the oppressive regime of former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr., stating that while Filipinos strive towards a prosperous future, the administration is pulling them back into an abusive and oppressive government.

The mayor, who is the son of former President Rodrigo Duterte and brother of impeached Vice President Sara Duterte, urged the administration not to waste lives sacrificed for peace and order.

Three impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte were filed in December 2024, alleging misuse of funds and attempts to cover up their use.

Mayor Duterte emphasized that his father's administration demonstrated it was possible to serve the country with discipline and without abuse or corruption.
