Dante Mariano Ang sworn in as new CFO chair

Dante Francis Mariano Ang II was sworn in as the new chairperson of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) on Friday, replacing former CFO chairperson Romulo Arugay.

Ang, currently the chairman and chief executive officer of The Manila Times, took his oath before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. signed Ang's appointment paper on October 16, 2024.

The CFO, an agency under the Office of the President, provides pre-departure services to Filipino emigrants and other migrants bound for countries like the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, and several European nations.

Ang has a background in journalism, including work as a reporter for the Tulsa Tribune and public relations consultant for high-profile politicians, as well as serving as chairperson of the National Book Development Board and board member of Clark International Airport Corp.
