CSC: Bar and licensure passers automatically eligible for civil service jobs

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) clarified on Monday that individuals who pass the Bar and licensure examinations are automatically eligible for civil service positions.

Under Republic Act No. 1080, which was amended, passing these exams qualifies candidates as having met the civil service examination requirement, including those licensed by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).

Passers of the Shari'a Bar Examinations are also considered qualified for these positions and no longer need to visit CSC offices to obtain a certificate.

Valid professional licenses or certificates issued by relevant authorities such as the Supreme Court, Professional Regulation Commission, or MARINA serve as proof of eligibility.

Applicants must still meet additional qualifications including education, training, experience, and competency requirements outlined in the Qualification Standards for career service positions.
