PNP coronavirus cases breach 2K mark

As of Thursday, the number of police officers infected with coronavirus in the Philippines has reached 2,084.

The Philippine National Police Health Service reported 36 new confirmed cases on Wednesday while recoveries increased to 757.

Ten police personnel have died from the disease, and there are currently 807 probable cases and 2,493 suspected cases being monitored.

PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac stated that most infected officers are asymptomatic and must observe a 14-day quarantine followed by another test before returning to duty after resting for seven to ten days.

On Tuesday, the number of infections within the PNP was at 2,048 with 11 new cases reported and five more recoveries bringing the total to 730.
