PH COVID recovery rate hits 81.6%, but Metro Manila hospitals at high risk

The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Saturday that the recovery rate for COVID-19 patients in the Philippines has reached 81.6%, with 481 new recoveries confirmed.

However, the DOH also recorded 9,595 new infections and ten additional deaths.

In Metro Manila, the bed capacity of large hospitals (Level 3) is now at a 'high risk' level, with occupancy rates for COVID beds ranging from 74% to 76%. Level 2 hospitals in the region are considered 'moderate risk'.

DOH Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega noted that Metro Manila has seen an increase in bed utilization across isolation wards and ICUs in cities like Makati, Quezon City, Taguig, and Manila.
