Corpuz secures 2nd in MPTC Tour of Luzon

Mervin Corpuz, a cyclist with Metro Pacific Tollways Drivehub, secured second place overall in the MPTC Tour of Luzon: Great Revival after winning Stage 6 on Tuesday.

Corpuz's strong performance saw him leap from fifth to second overall, just two minutes behind South Korean rider Joo Dae Yeong, mirroring his uncle and mentor Santy Barnachea’s achievements nine years ago.

In Stage 6, Corpuz finished third with a time of three hours, 31 minutes, and 12 seconds, while the stage winner was Muhammad Zahun Wahhi of Malaysia Pro Cycling.

Corpuz's success has placed him in contention for the overall title as he faces challenging mountain passes on Thursday’s Stage 8.

Manny V. Pangilinan, chairman of the MVP Group of Companies, raised the top individual prize from P500,000 to P1 million to recognize cyclists' endurance and passion.
