Converge targets Sky Cable migration to fiber by end-2025

Converge ICT Solutions, Inc., a listed fiber internet provider, aims to complete the migration of Sky Cable Corp.'s fixed-line subscribers to fiber by the end of 2025.

Converge CEO Dennis Anthony H. Uy told reporters on Monday that they started with Sky Cable in Quezon City and plan to transfer more customers within six to seven months.

Under their commercial agreement, Converge will use its network to enhance Sky Cable's offerings, expanding the service nationwide starting with Baguio, Davao, and General Santos cities.

Mr. Uy noted that Converge's current network utilization is only 30%, leaving room for potential partnerships with independent providers, and confirmed that the Sky brand will remain intact while operating independently from Converge.

Converge aims to roll out its services in all Filipino homes through open access, while Mr. Uy clarified that the company does not plan to acquire Sky Cable at this time.
