Converge beats Phoenix 92-83 in PBA Season 49

Converge secured their first win in PBA Season 49's Philippine Cup by defeating Phoenix with a score of 92-83 on Sunday evening.

Justine Baltazar led Converge with 16 rebounds, nine points, six assists, two blocks and one steal, helping the team bounce back from their loss to Meralco.

Alec Stockton contributed 18 points and six rebounds while Schonny Winston added 14 points and eight rebounds for Converge.

Justin Arana also put up a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds, forming a formidable frontcourt tandem with Baltazar.

Converge's star guard Jordan Heading remained sidelined due to back spasms and is expected to miss more games.

Phoenix struggled offensively in the final minutes, missing several free throws that hindered their comeback efforts despite Kai Ballungay's double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Converge will aim to make it two wins in a row against the Magnolia Hotshots on Wednesday, while Phoenix is set to face defending champions Meralco Bolts on Sunday.
