COMELEC aims ballot printing by March 19, verification by April 14

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) aims to complete printing all ballots for the 2025 midterm polls by March 19 and ballot verification by April 14.

Comelec chairman George Erwin Garcia stated that using six machines has allowed them to stay ahead of schedule, with over 27 million ballots already printed, representing 36% of the total requirement.

Despite some candidates withdrawing from the race, COMELEC will continue printing ballots without revisions and plans two work shifts for ballot verification to speed up the process.

Garcia emphasized that meticulous manual verification is a bottleneck in the process but with additional temporary workers hired at the Amoranto Sports Complex, they hope to meet their deadline.

The Comelec has a resolution allowing candidates who are unable to file personally due to health reasons to submit a doctor's certification along with their statement of withdrawal.
