Comelec receives final batch of ACMs from Miru Systems

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) received the final batch of 110,620 automated counting machines (ACMs) from Miru Systems on Wednesday, completing delivery ahead of schedule.

Miru Systems vice president Ken Cho confirmed that the last batch of 9,860 ACMs and their accessories arrived at Comelec's warehouse in Biñan, Laguna, where hardware acceptance tests are ongoing daily to ensure functionality and security.

Comelec chairman George Erwin Garcia oversaw the final delivery and thanked Miru for delivering the machines early, allowing for earlier quality control testing.

Local Comelec officers will begin distributing 2,000 ACMs for demonstration activities in barangays nationwide starting December 2, with international certification expected to be completed by early January 2025.

Miru Systems provided an additional 600 machines as a contingency without extra cost and noted that all machines are undergoing strict software reviews and stress testing.
