COMELEC launches voter reg for 2025 elections

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) launched voter registration for the 2025 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections Friday, August 1, with registrations set to continue through Sunday, August 10.

Registration hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., available at satellite registration sites or respective COMELEC offices of election officers (OEO) across the country.

In Metro Manila, registrants can also apply in any participating Register Anywhere Program (RAP) sites.

COMELEC chairman George Garcia stated that booths will be set up in various places like malls, schools, hospitals, and train stations to cater to those who cannot visit regular registration centers during the day.

The initiative aims to reach indigenous people communities, with COMELEC planning to register Aeta voters during the launch event in Mabalacat, Pampanga. The poll body also reiterated that there will be no transfer of local registration records during this period.
