Comelec starts Eleksyon 2025 campaign period with rules

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has initiated the campaign period for Eleksyon 2025, starting from March 28, 2025.

Comelec Chairman George Garcia emphasized adherence to election laws and guidelines, including restrictions on campaign materials and financial assistance distribution.

Campaign materials must comply with size limitations and environmental standards;

candidates are prohibited from vote-buying and distributing food during campaigning.

The poll body will remove illegal campaign materials as part of Oplan Baklas.

Comelec also enforces a ban on government spending within 45 days before the election period, which runs until May 11, 2025.
