Comelec Media Server glitch fixed, election results stand

A discrepancy in the vote count for Laoag, reported by Rappler's senior reporter Bea Cupin, prompted an investigation into data from the Comelec Media Server.

Rappler’s tech and research team reviewed files and found that the glitch had been addressed by 2 am on Tuesday, May 13, following a series of discussions in internal group chats initiated at 11:42 pm on Monday, May 12.

Despite adjusting counts to reflect accurate numbers, the 'Magic 12' of election night remains intact.

The election results have brought several surprises in both national and local races, with notable wins for Bam Aquino, Kiko Pangilinan, Leni Robredo, Rodrigo Duterte, Vico Sotto, Chel Diokno, and Isko Moreno.

These outcomes highlight significant shifts in political landscapes across various regions.
