Comelec appoints Noli Rafol Pipo as Maguindanao del Norte elections admin

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has appointed Commissioner Noli Rafol Pipo as the administrator of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte ahead of the May 12 midterm polls.

Commissioner Pipo will visit the municipality this Sunday to meet with police officials and other law enforcement agencies for an overview of the situation following a fatal ambush attack that killed an election officer and her spouse on March 26.

Pipo's role is to ensure peace and safety during the elections without interfering with local governance, emphasizing his power is almost unlimited and he reports directly to the Commission en banc.

Comelec chairperson George Erwin Garcia stated that Commissioner Pipo will coordinate regularly with officials from the provincial and regional security centers in the area to implement election laws and prohibitions.

Pipo reminded that Comelec control focuses on adherent supervision over all government agencies' activities, ensuring safety for election workers, candidates, supporters, and voters.
