Comelec adds five more OAV precincts for Eleksyon 2022 in Hong Kong

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will add five more polling precincts for overseas absentee voting (OAV) in Hong Kong to accommodate Filipino voters during Eleksyon 2022.

Commissioner George Garcia announced the decision following complaints about long lines and concerns over the surge of COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong.

The Comelec's OAV committee, led by Commissioner Marlon Casquejo, will now establish a total of ten precincts to cater to Filipino voters.

Garcia stated that around 93,000 Filipinos are expected to participate in the overseas absentee voting process.
