COA: Can't audit Red Cross as it's not under jurisdiction

COA Chairman Michael Aguinaldo said Friday that his agency has no jurisdiction over the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), responding to President Rodrigo Duterte's demand for an audit.

Aguinaldo made this statement during a House budget hearing when asked if COA could audit PRC payments.

Duterte accused Senator Richard Gordon, who heads both the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee and PRC, of using the organization for political gain and election campaigns.
