Classes suspended in Metro Manila and 35 provinces due to Dante, Emong

Malacañang has ordered the suspension of classes at all levels and allowed the adoption of alternative work arrangements in Metro Manila and 35 provinces on Friday due to persistent rains caused by Tropical Storms Dante and Emong, and the southwest monsoon.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin signed Memorandum Circular No. 93 on Thursday, which outlines the areas affected by the suspension.

The circular specifies that essential services such as basic health and disaster response must remain operational in the impacted regions.

Non-essential government employees are not required to report to work and may adopt alternative arrangements at their agency heads' discretion.

Local government units outside the listed areas have the authority to declare suspensions based on local conditions, while private offices can make decisions about operations independently.
