Classes suspended in parts of Pangasinan, Occidental Mindoro due to high heat

Classes or face-to-face learning sessions have been canceled in several areas of Pangasinan and Occidental Mindoro due to the forecasted high heat index on Thursday, March 13, 2025 and Friday, March 14, 2025.

In Dagupan City, Urdaneta City, Malasiqui, Manaoag, Mangaldan, Mamburao, San Jacinto, and Gerona, all levels of public and private schools are suspended for two days starting from March 13.

Malasiqui extends its suspension until the afternoon of March 14, while San Jacinto's suspension continues from March 13 until further notice and Gerona suspends classes in public schools from elementary to Grade 12 on Friday.

The Department of Education (DepEd) has issued these directives to ensure the safety and well-being of students during extreme weather conditions.

Students and parents are advised to check local updates for any further changes or additional cancellations.

This precautionary measure underscores the importance of prioritizing health and safety over regular school operations in times of severe heat.
