Clarin injures knee, Gilas loses podium finish

Camille Clarin suffered a right knee injury during Gilas Pilipinas Women's game against Australia in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2025 on Saturday.

Clarin was hurt at the 4:54 mark while attempting to drive past Alex Wilson and was later diagnosed with a high-grade partial ACL tear after an MRI examination.

Despite playing without Clarin, Gilas secured their quarterfinal spot by defeating Mongolia earlier on Sunday with a 19-15 victory but fell short of a podium finish after losing to Japan in the semifinals, 22-9, and China for third place, 21-11.

Mikka Cacho led the way with five points and four rebounds against Japan and six markers and six boards against China.

Australia won the gold medal by defeating Japan 21-17 in the final match.

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) has not provided an update on Clarin's condition but is requesting prayers for her recovery and assured support during her rehabilitation.
