Cignal HD Spikers beat Galeries Tower, 3-0

Cignal HD Spikers returned to winning ways by defeating Galeries Tower in straight sets, 25-17, 25-20, 25-19, in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at PhilSports Arena despite losing key players during the holiday break.

Vanie Gandler led Cignal with 17 points as they improved to a 5-1 standing and remain tied for first place with Petro Gazz, according to coach Shaq delos Santos.

Galeries Tower fought back in the second set but could not overcome Cignal's composure and strategic playmaking as they remained winless in seven matches.

Dawn Macandili-Catindig contributed defensively with 19 excellent digs, while Gel Cayuna provided strong setting support with 15 excellent sets, and new starter Ishie Lalongisip added nine points.

Cignal will take on PLDT on January 28 at PhilSports Arena where they aim to continue their improved performance following the departures of Molina and Meneses.
