CIDG seizes P21M butane canisters in Bulacan

Butane canisters valued at P21.18 million were seized from a warehouse in Bulacan by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

The raid occurred last Monday based on a warrant to search a warehouse in Barangay Pulong Buhangin, Santa Maria town.

Police found 4,236 sacks containing 423,600 empty butane containers of various brands.

The warehouse is reportedly owned by an individual known as 'Son', who remains at large.

CIDG stated that the reuse of these containers without proper authorization from brand owners constitutes a violation of the law.

Once apprehended, suspect 'Son' will face charges under Republic Act 623 and RA 5700, which regulate the use of marked containers.
