Police arrest 6 for illegal vape trade worth PHP4M

Police arrested six individuals and seized illegal vape products worth nearly PHP4 million in Quezon City.

The confiscated items, discovered in two separate operations on March 12, included unregistered X-BLACK ELITE devices, prefilled pod cartridges, and batteries without required permits from the Department of Trade and Industry.

Six suspects were arrested for charges under Republic Act 11900 (Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act), RA No. 10643 (Graphic Health Warnings Law), RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), and Section 10 in relation to Section 18(a) of RA 7394.

CIDG director Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III emphasized the state's commitment to protecting public health by intensifying campaigns against smuggling, economic sabotage, and illegal activities like the sale of unregistered vape products.

Torre urged the public to report any illegal trade of vape products or other illicit activities in their communities to support ongoing efforts.
