CHR investigates Navotas mistaken identity killing

The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has launched an independent investigation into the killing of a 17-year-old boy by police officers in Navotas City, who mistook him for an escaping suspect.

CHR expressed grave concern over the incident and hopes that it will lead to reforms within the Philippine National Police.

The commission is investigating six police officers involved in the shooting and seeks accountability for the alleged arbitrary deprivation of life.
