Chery Tiggo wins PVL on Tour match vs Akari Chargers

Chery Tiggo secured back-to-back victories in the PVL on Tour at the Ynares Center Montalban on Sunday, first defeating Capital1 and then winning over Akari Chargers with a score of 24-26, 25-19, 25-16, 23-25, 15-10.

Cess Robles led Chery Tiggo with a game-high 23 points, including 15 digs, while rookie Ren Peñafiel contributed 12 points and eight excellent receptions to secure the victory.

Akari Chargers dropped to 1-3 in Pool B after losing their second consecutive match, while Chery Tiggo improved to 2-0 with their dominant performance.

Chery Tiggo rallied from a tight fourth set deficit, overcoming an Akari surge with a 5-1 run led by Peñafiel to force a decisive fifth set.

Coach Norman Miguel expressed satisfaction with his team's resilience and teamwork, noting that the victory was a confidence-booster following their win against Capital1 the previous day.
