Chelsea Manalo departs for Miss Universe 2024

Chelsea Manalo, representing the Philippines in Miss Universe 2024, departed for Mexico on Monday, October 21.

The Filipina beauty queen expressed gratitude and excitement upon her departure, inviting well-wishers to see her off at the airport where she was greeted by members of the press and supporters.

Manalo emphasized that carrying the Philippine sash is not just her dream but also a collective aspiration of all Filipinos, including her parents.

She requested prayers and assistance in voting, particularly for her Voice for Change entry which addresses issues relevant to Filipinos.

Chelsea will compete for the Philippines' fifth Miss Universe title on November 16 (November 17 Philippine time), with preliminary competitions taking place on November 14.

The 25-year-old beauty queen from Bulacan won the Miss Universe Philippines crown in May, becoming the first Filipino-Black American candidate to win the national title.
