Cebu Pacific reports 20.8% passenger growth, strong domestic demand

Budget carrier Cebu Pacific reported a 20.8% increase in the number of passengers flown to 13.9 million in the first half of 2025, driven by strong domestic travel demand.

The company flew 2.2 million passengers in June alone, marking a 7.9% annual increase from the previous year, with domestic flights accounting for 1.68 million and international flights reaching 558,000.

Cebu Pacific president Alexander G. Lao attributed the resilience in passenger traffic to strong demand despite an earlier start to the academic calendar this year.

The seat load factor for June stood at 87.5%, with domestic flights recording a higher rate of 92.1% compared to 76.1% for international flights, reflecting continued strength in air travel demand within its network.

For the first half of 2025, Cebu Pacific's seat load factor increased to 85.4%, up from last year’s 85.3%, despite a more than 20% increase in seat capacity.

The company expects capacity growth to remain similar through the third quarter before rising again in the fourth quarter due to ongoing proactive management of engine and supply chain issues.
