Castro dismisses Dela Rosa’s conspiracy claims as baseless

House Deputy Minority Leader France Castro dismissed Senator Ronald 'Bato' Dela Rosa's claims of a conspiracy against him and former President Rodrigo Duterte as baseless and diversionary.

Castro accused Dela Rosa of spreading unfounded conspiracy theories while avoiding accountability for extrajudicial killings during the Duterte administration, urging him to face congressional hearings rather than dismissing them as political conspiracies.

She emphasized that Dela Rosa should focus on addressing human rights violations instead of making accusations without evidence and called on him to attend probes related to the International Criminal Court (ICC) investigation into alleged crimes against humanity during the drug war.

Castro stressed that Dela Rosa's attempts to paint legitimate calls for accountability as political conspiracies only highlight the urgent need for proper investigation into serious allegations.

The House recently formed a 'quad-committee' to investigate extrajudicial killings, crimes linked to illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), and illegal drugs during Duterte's anti-drug campaign.
