Carlos Yulo leads Philippine gymnastics team to 2028 Olympics

Double Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo is set to lead the Philippine gymnastics team at the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles, according to Gymnastics Association of the Philippines President Cynthia Carrion.

Carrion announced that the team will consist of four gymnasts and one reserve, with Yulo aiming to win gold in men's artistic gymnastics all-around events.

Yulo urged his younger brother Eldrew, who is also emerging in junior competitions, to stay focused on his goals despite facing different paths from Carlos.

The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines plans to develop more talents to form a quartet that can qualify for the LA Olympics and has laid out bigger goals for Yulo's next Olympic bid.

Yulo will take the rest of 2024 off, focusing on training for high-level events in 2025 such as the FIG Artistic World Championships and the Southeast Asian Games.
