Cardinals seek prayers for next pope election

The College of Cardinals has asked for prayers from believers as it prepares for the conclave to elect the next pope on May 7, 2025.

The Holy See Press Office reported that two cardinals will not be able to join the conclave due to health reasons, but all 133 cardinal electors have been recognized despite exceeding the numerical limit stipulated by Pope Saint John Paul II.

Cardinals gathered in Rome for General Congregations and expressed their commitment to being humble instruments of divine wisdom during the conclave.

The College of Cardinals highlighted that the true force promoting unity within the Church is the prayers of all faithful members, urging believers to support them spiritually as they discern God's will.
