Caraga police arrest 186 wanted suspects, including sex offenders and rebels

Police in the Caraga region arrested 186 wanted suspects from March 1 to 27, including high-profile criminals and a communist rebel.

Among those apprehended were 'Joe', the region's fifth most-wanted for sexually assaulting his niece; 'Nel', Surigao del Sur's third most-wanted for molesting a junior high school student; and Arj, an NPA fighter facing seven charges including murder.

Surigao del Sur police made 47 arrests, the highest among all participating units, followed by Butuan City and Agusan del Sur with 36 each.

The operations resulted in addressing three percent of the region's outstanding warrants, with a focus on cases involving violence against women and children.

Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano, director of Police Regional Office-13, stated that more such operations are expected to continue.
