Camiguin set to reopen to tourists on October 25

Camiguin Island is set to reopen to tourists on October 25, coinciding with the Lanzones Festival.

Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat visited Camiguin and confirmed that over half of the province's tourism workers are fully vaccinated.

The DOT sees Camiguin as one of the top ten tourist destinations in the country, which was attracting nearly a million visitors annually before the pandemic.

Governor Jurdin Jesus Romualdo stated that reopening will aid both the local economy and national recovery efforts, emphasizing the importance of vaccinating tourism workers first.
