CALAX starts collecting tolls on Silang Interchange from Feb 10

Starting February 10, 2024, MPCALA Holdings Inc., the concessionaire of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), will begin collecting tolls on the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange segment.

MPCALA had previously offered free passage through this section since November 8, 2023, but now implements updated toll rates to support maintenance and enhancement of the road.

The Toll Regulatory Board has approved the collection of toll fees beginning February 10 at midnight, with initial base rates ranging from P17.00 for Class 1 vehicles to P52.00 for Class 3 vehicles.

Raul Ignacio, president and general manager of MPCALA, highlighted that daily traffic on this section has surpassed initial projections, reaching 12,000 vehicles per day compared to an expected 5,000 cars.

The Silang subsection, spanning 3.9 kilometers with a 2x2 lane expressway from Silang East Interchange to Aguinaldo Highway in Cavite, is crucial for connectivity and economic development in the region, offering motorists a quicker way to reach popular tourist destination Tagaytay.

Toll rates vary based on vehicle class, ranging from P14 to P244 for entry points along the section, but toll fees for other CALAX subsections will remain unchanged.

CALAX aims to complete its full length of 45 kilometers by 2025, featuring eight interchanges and connecting seamlessly with the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) in Kawit.
