CAAP to upgrade Iloilo airport with PHP190M

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), through the Department of Transportation (DoTr), is set to implement upgrades for Iloilo International Airport with a total budget of over PHP190 million.

These improvements will focus on rehabilitation, expansion, and modernization of the passenger terminal building to increase its capacity from 367 domestic and 360 international passengers to 675 domestic and 407 international passengers.

The upgrades include installing air conditioning units, escalators, an elevator, flight information displays, enhancing fire detection systems, and repairing the departure conveyor system.

CAAP Director General Raul del Rosario emphasized the commitment to enhancing passenger safety and experience at Iloilo International Airport.

Additionally, Iloilo International Airport is one of several airports in line for privatization with Prime Asset Ventures, Inc.'s (PAVI) unsolicited proposal for operations and maintenance successfully completing negotiations.
