182 PDLs released from BuCor facilities this Friday

On Friday, February 28, a total of 182 persons deprived of liberty were released from various Bureau of Corrections facilities.

This month marks the release of 793 PDLs under President Marcos's administration, with BuCor releasing 19,740 inmates since his term began.

The releases included 240 individuals from New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City and 69 from the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong, among others.

DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla and BuCor Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr. led the culmination activity for these releases at the BuCor headquarters in Muntinlupa City.

Remulla urged the released PDLs to apply their rehabilitation learnings to become productive members of their communities, emphasizing that change is possible.

Undersecretary Deo L. Marco also encouraged the released individuals to contribute positively and use their experiences for personal growth.
