BSP: PH may lower GDP target to 6-7% due to ECQ

BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno says the government may lower its GDP growth target for 2021 due to the two-week ECQ in NCR Plus.

Diokno estimates the new target could be between 6-7% instead of the previous forecast of 6.5-7.5%.

He notes that recovery will depend on the speed of vaccine deployment and expects pre-pandemic levels to be reached by 2022.
