BSP, NBC meet in Bohol to discuss financial sector cooperation

Last week, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) held a high-level bilateral meeting in Bohol.

Governor Eli M. Remolona Jr. of BSP and Governor Chea Serey of NBC discussed key developments and challenges in the financial sector, including cross-border payment initiatives and the use of artificial intelligence.

The meeting highlighted strategies for combating financial fraud and emphasized the commitment to fostering financial innovation and enhancing payment system efficiency.

Both institutions agreed to strengthen cooperation in various areas of central banking, building on a memorandum of understanding signed last year that aimed to promote collaboration in payment systems, cybersecurity, sustainable finance, and human resource development.

The BSP continues to work with other countries to improve cross-border payments.
