Bong Go files COC for VP, Duterte retires from politics

Senator Bong Go filed his certificate of candidacy for vice president on October 2, surprising many who expected him to run for president.

Go was accompanied by President Rodrigo Duterte, who announced his retirement from politics and withdrew his acceptance as PDP-Laban's original nominee for vice president.

In a speech after filing his COC, Go vowed to continue Duterte's programs and reforms, emphasizing that he will be a 'working vice president' rather than a spare tire.

Go stated his intention to focus on the fight against drugs, criminality, corruption, and the Build, Build, Build infrastructure program.
