BOI endorses ₱5.168T green lane projects, 78% in RE

The Board of Investments (BOI) has endorsed over ₱5-trillion worth of projects under green lane status, with the latest tally reaching ₱5.168 trillion by the end of April.

Renewable energy (RE) projects account for 78.33% of the total number of endorsed projects, with a value of ₱4.75 trillion and potential to create over 272,000 jobs.

Since its introduction in February 2023, the green lane program has certified 203 projects worth ₱5.168 trillion, promoting innovation and expediting permit processing for strategic investments.

Other sectors benefiting from green lanes include digital infrastructure (₱364.877 billion), food security (₱18.698 billion), and manufacturing (₱36.905 billion), generating a combined total of over 30,800 jobs.

The program aims to align with the Marcos administration's push for increased investments in renewable energy as the country seeks alternative sources to meet its growing population's needs.
